Jose Abner Cabrera Alvarez (Abner Cabrera) is a Bassist, Audio Engineer and Producer from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he studied Music Production & Engineering, Contemporary Writing and Production, and a Minor in Post-Production, as a full-tuition scholarship recipient. There he had the opportunity to learn how to compose, arrange and produce for a variety of styles (Pop, Latin, Jazz, Orchestra, etc) and how to record, mix and master using large format consoles like the API Legacy, SSL Duality, Avid S6, Neve 88RS as well as using analog and digital compressors, equalizers, limiters, and hundreds of different mics and mic techniques.
Abner have had the opportunity to record, mix and produce for many independent artist, some of them being: Sheila del Bosque, Diego Ureña, Jose Ignacio Santos Aquino, Dr Jaymz, Berenice Paulino, Mirla Cruz, Ada Betsabe, Santiago Bertel, Sam Best, Aija Reke, Chanel Wang, First Love Boston, Evans Ighodalo, Angel Irizarry, Ivanna Cuesta and many more important collaborations like Sony Music India and "LightKeepers" Movie.
As a Bassist, Abner studied at the National Conservatory of Music of Domincan Republic where he focused on the performance and composition of Jazz and Folkloric music. Before, surrendering to music Abner earned a Computer Science Engineering degree which was his main career in parallel until 2017. Abner has share de stage in Jazz Festivals and various performances with Javier Vargas, Sheila del Bosque, Estefania Nuñez, Leton Pe, Esteban Puebla, Sandy Gabriel and many more.
